A weekend at home...say what?

So this weekend we decided to stay home for once :) we love going to see family all the time but every now and then it's nice to just stay home.

Jon got the fence totally finished up a week or so ago and has started on our gardens. YAY! I'm going to try and make Jax his own baby food... So we are definitely looking forward to all of the yummy groceries (as J calls them)! He tilled them up and got the "weed tarp" put down this weekend. We will begin planting today!

Saturday, my sister and her boyfriend came up to visit us. It was so nice and we ate a glorious meal (ribs and veggies) and had a great time visiting with them and listening to her play her guitar and sing *Shout out: Please check her out on YouTube and Jessie Wilson Music...shes also playing a show in Downtown Columbus this Saturday 4/20 if you want to hear her in person..SHES AWESOME!* Back to the weekend.. this was Jaxson's first time hearing and watching her play and sing.. and let me just say he was MESMERIZED! I was holding him and he never once took his eyes off of her or even moved a finger. IT WAS SO SWEET. If you know me, then you know of course I cried (it didn't help that she was singing some sappy Jason Maraz song either). Then, on Sunday, Jon's parents rode up and we all went to lunch at what we thought was going to be good- Mama Lucias.. NOT. If you ever visit Ashley Park in Newnan- don't eat there. The waiter (and other workers) were not nice and the food was not good....just a heads up. But after we ate, we all went shopping and enjoyed their visit.

Jax UPDATES: He has tried two new veggies- sweet potatoes and peas. He LOVED the peas and thought the SP were just okay. He still thinks its super funny when I say "mmmmm" and has started mocking me and talking while he tries to eat. Through all of this, he has received a new nickname- Piraña. Seriously! The kid acts like a Piraña when he "goes for the spoon." When he gets close to it, he will shake his head back and forth while attacking the spoon. I hope to catch this hilarious act on video soon!

Adios, March...we're on a ROLL!

WHAT?!!?! It's April already??? Whew. The past few weeks have flown by and March is now behind us.

To recap over the last few weeks...

I had my Spring Break (SO THANKFUL I still receive one :) ). Jon took a few days off and we got some stuff done around the house and he got the fence done (just have to do the last gate this weekend). We were going to take a small vacay to FL to do some fishing, but with the weather as finicky and cold as it has been here lately, we opted out- and we are glad we didn't go! A few of my awesome co-workers, aka: Jaxson's Poka Aunts :) came up to visit us.. it was super nice and he loved them...actually they wore him out and took a THREE hour nap after they left, haha (they should come up more often then right? lol)

Jaxson got to celebrate his first Easter. We left Friday afternoon for Hurtsburo (a tiny tiny town south way down in the country...if you blink you'll miss it & only mostly 'hunters' know of and gather here) to stay the weekend with my dad. Jon was able to go turkey hunting with him and I got to sit back, play, and enjoy some quality time with my little man. We had some of my dad's family come down to his land & visit on Sunday for the Easter festivities. Jax got his very first visit from the Easter Bunny and loved all of his new and will-get-much-use-out-of toys/teethers. We ate like fat pigs :) and had a nice little egg hunt for the kids- of course Jaxson got to participate and even found some money eggs- $2 to be exact and we have put that in his piggy bank. We had a blast, but were sad we didn't get to see the other family (GG, Pops, Granny, and Jon's parents). Overall, it was fun and we enjoyed our first Easter with our sweet egg.

This past week back at school flew by, and it took a few days to get into the swing of things...

OH!! BIG JAX NEWS- he rolled over for the first time on Easter. He had tried to roll a day before, but just for a second on his side and then stopped. BUT on Easter Sunday, we had him laying on some blankets on the porch at my dads. He kept trying to roll onto his right side, but it was making me nervous being on the hard porch, so I rolled up a blanket and put it there so he couldn't do it anymore. WELL Ill be dern :), just a few seconds later, he started on his left side and after a few "rocks" over- HE GOT IT!! He went straight from his back to his tummy. IT WAS PRECIOUS!! Their were several (including Jon) of us out there so we all got to witness this amazing defeat and after he did it we all said YAYYYY!!!! and started clapping.. he was a little unsure at first what we were doing, but then he got tickled and gave us all the BIGGEST smile :D he knew he had made us proud. SO needless to say he has been literally ON A ROLL the past few days! It is literally amazing how fast they learn.

We are excited about this weekend as this will really be the first time in 3 weeks we have stayed home. Jon is going to knock out a few projects, with Jaxson and I supervising of course :) My mom and Granny are coming to visit on Sunday morning, so we are looking forward to that. We also have our niece, Chloe's 11th birthday Sunday evening. CANT BELIEVE SHE IS THIS OLD ALREADY!

Anywho, below are some pictures of our sweet love!
