Weekend fun with the fam

Well... We all love the weekends don't we? I have always looked forward to them before Jax but now after working all week and feeling like I hardly see him.. I truly cherish and look even more forward to the weekends now!!! This weekend we had some family come up for a visit.

Saturday morning, GG (my mom) and Granny came up and hung out with us. It actually worked out good because we had our tax appointment that morning so since they were here we didn't have to take him with us. On our way home, we stopped by JR's BBQ at picked up some ribs- yummy! They hung out until about 4 and then a few hours later Melissa (Jon's sister), Chloe, and Elijah got there and spent the night with us. We ate some grilled venison, roasted veggies and topped it off with brownie bites :). It was scrumptious.

Sunday they left early and Jon, Jax, and I totally enjoyed the beautiful day!! We spent all day just about outside and got a lot of things done around the house. Here are some pics from the awesome family filled weekend-

3 months

So I am not even going to apologize for not keeping up- my bad!! :( I really do hate that I keep forgetting.

The past three months of our lives have absolutely flown by. "They" (who is they anyway?) say once you have children that life goes faster and if you blink it will pass you by. I have been trying not to blink but time just keeps slipping away from us.

Precious memories and pictures are much more dear to my heart now. Jaxson has literally grown up before our eyes and it is so hard to believe that this precious baby boy has been in our lives for this long. Seems like just last week we brought him home for the first time. Seems like just last week we were adjusting to life with a newborn and understanding that we are responsible for a real, live, precious little human being! When I think back though it is hard to imagine life before Jax and it seems as if he has been here forever! So very bittersweet!

I honestly could not have asked for a better baby. He is happy 99.98% of the time and is such a joy to be around. I know all momas say this ;) but he is so smart.

Milestones-
•He has been holding his head up by himself for a few months but obviously he has gotten stronger with that over the past few weeks. He is so curious and loves to look at the big world around him.

•He sleeps through the night. He has been sleeping in his crib since he was 6 weeks old. We started feeding him cereal in his nighttime bottle then and decided to try his crib out. He has loved it ever since and has been sleeping all through the night. So blessed (thank you Lord)! *We will start baby food and cereal with a spoon in a month.

•He loves tummy time and likes to use his feet to push up against things. He is also getting better about keeping his head elevated for a longer period of time.

•He loves to push up and "stand up" with his feet I feel as if he thinks this makes him big and powerful- which of course he is :)

He went to the doctor for a "head cold" on Monday (2/18/13) and weighed 14.2 pounds. Woah :) what can I say- he loves to eat an doesn't miss a meal. He goes back for his 4 month checkup at the end of March and will get his second round if shots. UMM hello- out of all the "baby advice" you get.. why didn't anyone warn me about the SO pitiful 2 month checkup ???!!! He received his shots and it was just about the saddest thing I have ever witnessed or endured. He was so pitiful but luckily I scooped him right up and have him LOTS of loving and he stopped crying!

Well enough for now. I will post again soon.. Hopefully (if I remember) ;)

XoXO!
